Miriam Salado (b. 1987 in Hermosillo, Mexico) is a visual artist, who currently resides in Mexico City.
She primarily works with drawing and sculpture, focusing on themes related to the landscape and the depletion of the Mexican desert. She was part of the Contemporary Art Educational Program at SOMA Mexico City, Mexico (2017-2019), the Strategies and Production Processes in Contemporary Art Program, at Hermosillo, Mexico (2015), and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Plastic Arts at the University of Sonora and the National School of Plastic Arts at UNAM, Mexico (2006-2011).
Salado has held solo exhibitions at Proyectos Monclova, Mexico City, Mexico (2024); Proyecto N.A.S.A.L, Mexico City, Mexico (2022); 206 Arte Contemporáneo, Tijuana, Baja, Mexico (2018); Proyectos Impala, Ciudad Juárez, Mexico (2017); Celda Contemporánea, Mexico City, Mexico (2017); Museum of Art of Sonora, Hermosillo, Mexico (2016); and Gallery of the Sonora Institute of Culture, Hermosillo, Mexico (2013).
Collectively, she has exhibited at the 15th FEMSA Biennial, León Guanajuato, Mexico (2024); Casa de México, Madrid, Spain (2020); Museum of Contemporary Art of Querétaro, Querétaro, Mexico (2020); Pima Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery, Arizona, USA (2019); Los 14, Mexico City, Mexico (2019); and Espacio Escultórico, Mexico City, Mexico (2018).
